Banned azo dyes old and new standards of comparison

With the increasingly high requirements on azo dyes that are harmful to human health, the requirements on their detection standards are becoming more and more strict. Therefore, the upgrading of standards is inevitable. China issued GB/T 17592-2011 "determination of banned azo dyes in textiles" (hereinafter referred to as the "new standard") on December 30, 2011, replacing GB/T 17592-2006 "determination of banned azo dyes in textiles" (hereinafter referred to as the "old standard"), and officially implemented on September 1, 2012. In order to make testers better understand the two standards, this paper compares and analyzes the differences between the old and new standards.

 

1 comparison of old and new standards

 

1.1 reagents and samples

 

In the new standard, the preparation method of mixing standard working solution is added: the aromatic amine standard substances listed in appendix A are configured into the mixed standard working solution with the concentration of about 10 mug /mL.

The amount of citric acid buffer solution needed to be added during the treatment of the sample increased from 16 mL to 17 mL, thus making the sample wetting more fully. The results of different sample pretreatment methods are not comparable. The new standard no longer requires polyester products to be treated using the method in appendix B, but only that the method is optional. If the method in appendix B is used, it should be explained in the test report. Appendix B was changed from normative appendix to informative appendix, and "polyester sample" was changed to "polyester sample", which unified the terminology according to the national standard.

 

1.2 changes in analysis methods

 

1.2.1 the column temperature heating process of gas chromatography/mass spectrometer was modified

 

The time of column temperature heating was shortened from 44 min to 22.7 min, saving the test time. The new standard sets the delay time of solvent as 3 min. If the delay time is too long, the peak emergence of aniline will be affected. If the time is too short, the high solvent peak will directly affect the effect of the whole ion flow chart.

 

1.2.2 modification of HPLC/DAD analytical method

 

The new standard column temperature was changed from 30℃ to 40℃, and the expression of gradient was modified. The gradient of the old standard is in the form of table, and the new standard is more concise and clear with text.
